Makassar International Writers Festival 2024


Hello, everyone! We finally meet again after a quite long time and for today i'm bringing you guys together in the event for all writers and those who enjoyed reading in "Makassar International Writers Festival 2024!". As for what the title of the event said, this event served a bunch of literature works from all around the globe. There were so many things to enjoyed, so many talkshow and discussion group where we can enjoy it for free! There were also food tenants and a special performance at the end of the night and i saw so many cool people that attended that event. 

"Wishing Tree"

The very first thing that pick my interest was some kind of tree where there were so many papers hanged on it. I think the concept of the tree was close to some kind of a wishing tree since people were venting and hanged their hopes and dreams on the tree. The papers filled with writings and drawings about how the person who wrote it feels or they're spilling some secrets that they couldn't tell people around them. Some of the stories were so crazy but i enjoyed reading it. In the other hand, i feel bad about it and i hope that they find the help that they needed.

"Menerbitkan untuk anak & remaja"

In this talkshow, there were two publishers and editors and the other two were writers. The topics of the discussion was quite interesting as they talked about how community of books can help kids and teen to express themself and as a place to pour their thoughts. One of the speakers stated that by reading books or spending time with books could help kids to learn how to control their emotion. Books can help kids and teens  with their psychological development and education. By reading, children also can get the knowledge on problem solving.

"Visiting Neighbors: Australia"

This event is about sharing experiences of those who have been in Indonesia as the speakers are from Australia. One of the speakers stated that her love to Indonesia is not just because of the people, the food and the social life of Indonesia. Indonesia have been famous for their title as having "Polite and Loving" people and these guests stated that that were true. Authenticity of Indonesia is one of the main interests for them, people are so open-hearted. One of the speakers said that our people are unique especially in traffic, she said that there's beauty in every movement, how the bikers move their bike as they try to avoid others on the road, she said that it's like an art performance.

"Menjadi: Seni membangun kesadaran diri dan sekitar"

The book "Menjadi: Seni membangun kesadaran diri dan sekitar" concluded some way and description on how people think critically yet differently. The author stated that she made this book to make people aware that being aware itself is a form of privilege. How some succesfull people are those who's aware of their surroundings, of what they are. They know who they are and therefore it will not be easy for other people to influenced them or even controlling their emotions. The process of being aware begins from ourself. How we collected all the knowledge that we have in our minds and body and in the process of knowing who we are we learned little by little, learned how we saved those emotional knowledge.

Overall, this event is quite interesting. I hope that i could visit so much more talkshow but unfortunately i couldn't be there for a quite long time. I'm glad that i went to the event as i saw so many cool people dressed as who they are, flaunting their personality confidently was such a sight to see. I think that is all that i can write, i hope we meet in another chance. Ciao!

Who doesn't know about science fiction? Usually futuristic, science fiction speculates about alternative ways of life made possible by technological change.
